The Key Laboratory of Molecular Nanostructure and Nanotechnology, CAS (MNNCAS) was founded in 2001 based on the former Youth Laboratory of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. This Laboratory emphasizes on the basic research and related technology of molecular structures and nanodevices as well as the applications of nanomaterials. Its main interests are studying the nanostructures and their functions, developing relevant characterizing technology, and exploring novel nanomaterials and nanodevices. The research activities of this laboratory include:   

(1) Single molecule, molecular self-assembly, and molecular nanodevices 

(2) biomolecules and nanobiology 

(3) Advanced carbon nanomaterials 

(4) Functional materials for environmental protection and catalysis 

(5) Funtional materials and devices for energy conversion and storage 

(6) SPM and other new technologies on probing molecular nanostructures
